Painting created for Thirst for Humanity 2022 with proceeds benefitting migrants at the border.

This piece is inspired by the Surrealist movement of the early 20th century. Surrealism valued the power of dreams, sought artistic and political freedom, and challenged norms. Adherents were influenced by nature and Indigenous North American cultures.

In response to a cruel and illogical border situation, 'Safe Passage' expresses a dreamy, but perhaps more reasonable, alternative - wherein migrants enjoy a safe and easy journey under the watchful eye of a benevolent natural force, frustrating those that seek to do them harm.
